THIS WEEK @ TRINITY

We invite you to join us in worship. Worship is at 8:15 AM and 10:30 AM in the sanctuary.  Refresh Worship is each Wednesday at 6:30 PM in Dishman Chapel.  This service features communion each week and is thirty minutes in length. 

Childcare is provided for all worship services as well as a family room located in the childcare wing.  Our 10:30 service is broadcast each Sunday morning on KFDM Channel 6.

CHURCH PICTORIAL DIRECTORY
This is the LAST Sunday to sign up before and after the 8:15 and 10:30 worship services for your family’s portrait appointment.   We are asking for volunteers during the picture appointments from September 20th through October 2nd. CHURCH OFFICES  
The church offices will be closed Friday, September 3 and Monday, September 6 in observance of the Labor Day Holiday.    


THE FALL KICK-OFF PARTY
Don’t Miss the kickoff on Sunday, September 12th!  Join us for worship and stay for the biggest party of the fall, including a shared meal on Trinity’s lawn. Each adult Sunday school class has been asked to bring a tail-gate meal to share.  We’ll have two moonwalks, a dunking booth, balloons, food, drinks, and more. Informal Sunday, dress casual, and invite your friends and bring all of your family.  


BISHOP JANICE RIGGLE HUIE VISIT 
Our Bishop, Janice Riggle Huie, will visit Beaumont on Monday, September 13th as part of a tour to every district in the Texas Annual Conference.  She will be speaking and receiving feedback about our transition to the new model for ministry which our conference has been in the process of adopting, and she will be engaging the laity in conversation about shared ministry opportunities.  You are invited to meet her at the Wesley UMC in Beaumont at 6:30 pm.


CONNECTIONS CLASS ~ ATTENTION! VISITORS AND NEW MEMBERS
Would you like to become more connected to Trinity United Methodist Church?  This class is designed to help you learn more about: United Methodist Beliefs, United Methodist History, Ministries at Trinity UMC, Church Membership, The Sacraments, How you can get connected.  This five week class begins Sunday, September 19th at 9:30 am in the Library.  


OPPORTUNITIES TO HELP OTHERS  
The UMW is collecting books for the Ubi Caritas Reach Out and Read Ministry.  These Books will be given to children at each well child visit at the Ubi Caritas Center.  All books must be NEW and appropriate for ages 6 months to 5 years.  Please place your donation in the UMW gray tub located in the Church Library.  


WEDNESDAY NIGHT DINNERS
Wednesday night dinners have begun from 5:30 – 6:30 pm in Vivion Hall.  Come early for Centering Prayer at 5:00 pm in Dishman Chapel, join us for food and fellowship in Vivion Hall, and stay for Refresh! worship at 6:30 pm.


YOUTH MINISTRY NEWS

UMYF will not meet this Sunday in observance of the Labor Day holiday. 
Real Talk on Wednesdays in the Youth Center from 7 - 8 pm.
Tri-Retreat 2010 will be held October 1st - 3rd.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY NEWS

Have you been looking for a way to make a difference in a child’s life?  We are looking for adults who are willing to teach about once every 6 weeks in children’s Sunday school.  We have needs in preschool and elementary age groups.  The curriculum is very easy to use.  We provide materials and training.  You can’t imagine the blessing you’ll receive! Kids Time & Kids Time, Jr. (Wednesday night children’s groups) ~  We start at 5:00 pm on the playground, and then go inside to our classrooms for Bible stories, crafts and games. Meet new friends as you learn about Jesus each Wednesday night from 5:00 – 5:45!  Age 3 – 1st grade - room CC5, 2nd-5th grade - room 116, and childcare is available for our birth – 2 year old friends.  

Mom’s Connection will meet Tuesday, September 7th from 10:00 am – noon in room 105 in the West Wing (off the Narthex).  ALL MOMS are welcome! A fun playtime in childcare is provided for the kids. Lunch will be served for all moms, so make sure to pack a lunch for your children to eat in the nursery. We’ll be making a quilt for a special mom and having a lively discussion on our most pressing mom topics! Email Adrian if you have any questions.
