BIBLE STUDIES AND SMALL GROUPS

We welcome you to join us for a small group or Bible study. Trinity offers a variety of studies and groups throughout the year. Some of the studies are noted to be for those who unfamiliar with Biblical text, other studies will be noted as for those seeking a deeper understanding of the scriptures. Small groups will vary in topic and some groups will be developed to meet the requests of certain ages or demographics. No matter where you are in journey in life and spirit, we welcome you at Trinity and invite you to continue your journey with us.

ON-GOING BIBLE STUDY

Men’s Bible Study meets every Tuesday morning for coffee, prayer, and examination of the week’s biblical text. The men study the lectionary passage for the Sunday. Each lesson discussion is a stand alone lesson so you may join them at any time. The Men’s Bible Study meets in room 120. 

United Methodist Women offers a wide variety of study opportunities for women.  Small groups of women gather either monthly or bi-monthly to study a   variety of topics relating to mission, world religions, and Bible study.   For information about meeting dates and times, please contact the church office.     

Mom's Connection -  If you are a mother of small children and would like to meet with moms for support and friendship, then join us, on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 10:00- Noon in room 105 of the West Wing. DISCIPLE BIBLE STUDY

Disciple 1: The Beginning Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study is the best beginning for anyone seriously interested in studying the Bible. Designed to help persons become familiar with the broad themes of the entire Bible, the study provides a context whereby each person is guided toward a deeper understanding of what it means to live as a Christian in today’s world.  Each class meets for 2 1/2 hours per week, for thirty-four weeks.  Group size is limited to 12 persons.  Cost of materials is $40.  Classes will begin on Monday, August 30, at 6:30 PM.   Lisa LaFosse will lead this class.  A class will also be offered on Tuesdays at 9:30 AM.

Jesus in the Gospels is a 30 week advanced Disciple course that invites you to look at Jesus in each of the four Gospels and ask the question, "Who is the Jesus that you see?"  Disciple I is a prerequisite for this course. The cost is $40. Classes begin on Tuesday, August 31 at 9:30 AM. Carol Matthews will lead this class.

SMALL GROUP STUDIES

Financial Peace University is Dave Ramsey's life-changing program that teaches you to achieve your financial goals by eliminating debt, saving for the future, and giving like never before. We are offering you the chance to take the first lesson on Sunday, August 29, at 5:00 pm Super Saving lesson, for free. Classes are 2 hours each. Cost of the program is $100.00.  We will meet in room 116. Childcare is available upon request.   Ryan Mitchell  will lead this class.


SHORT-TERM STUDIES

The Book of Psalms is a short term (10-week) class that offers greater understanding of how these ancient texts of praise, lament, worship, and prayer can still speak to us and for us. Each week students will have 30-minutes of  Bible study to at home.  This reading will lead into the group discussion.  Cost of the study is $15.00. Classes are 1 1/2 hours each. Classes will begin on Wednesday, September 8.   Phoebe Dishman will lead this class.

The Book of Romans is a short term (8-week) class dealing with a very important part of Christian tradition.  Classes will begin in January 2011.  The leaders for this class are Diane and Haywood Walker.  Details will follow.  

“When Christians Get It Wrong” Adam Hamilton’s book will serve as the basis for this short term study. Those who take this study will gain a different way of understanding the issues that keep people away from Christianity and keep Christians from living a more compelling faith.   Cost of the class is $15.00.  Steve Barkley will lead this class.
