SUNDAY MORNINGS FOR CHILDREN
Sunday School is the foundation of our Christian Education program. It begins at 9:15 AM each Sunday morning.
2, 3, and 4 Year Old Sunday School
Our 2 year old class meets in the Childcare Wing of the church (room CC5). Children at this age learn by mimicing movement, music and rhythm, and listening to stories. The children are taught by volunteers. Each Sunday the children will enjoy games, music, simple crafts, and play time.
The 3 and 4 Year Old Class meets in room 111. Using age appropriate curriculum, the children begin exploring the stories of the Bible,and what it means to be a Christian and to believe in Jesus. Children enjoy songs, crafts, stories, games, and snacks all designed to reinforce the story and theme of the day.
CROSSWALK SUNDAY SCHOOL ---- Kindergarten through 5th Grade
Crosswalk is the name of the our Sunday School program for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade. It is designed to help children connect with the Bible, Jesus, and God through learning preferences. The children will learn and experience a Bible story or Christian theme for six weeks. During this six weeks, they will experience the story through art, music, science, cooking, storytelling, games, computers, or movies. Students rotate through six of the various subjects.
Crosswalk begins at 9:15 AM in room 215 of the Education Building (B Builiding). The first fifteen minutes is chapel time. During this time the children share their joys and concerns, pray, give an offering, sing, and read the scripture for the day. At the end of the Sunday School hour, the children are to meet their parents in room 116 of the main building. Please note that for safety purposes we request that parents come to room 116 to retrieve their children.
WORSHIP
Children are welcome in all worship services at Trinity. In the narthex there are baskets that contain children's worship bags. In the bags you will find crayons, pencils, paper, and a bulletin for the children.
During the 10:30 service, children are invited to come forward for the children's sermon. Various members of the church and staff provide a message for the children that brings the day's scripture lesson to their learning level. Following the children's sermon, children ages 1st grade and younger are invited to attend Children's Church.
CHILDREN'S CHURCH is under the direction of Michele Morrow. The children have a Bible story each Sunday. This story is related either through story telling, music, or video. After the message is heard, the children go to Vivion Hall for a time of games and crafts that emphasize the day's lesson. Parents may retrieve their children after the service in Vivion Hall.
NURSERY
Trinity is very proud of our new childcare facilities. Completed in September 2008, the new facility provides a parent/child comfort room. Comfortable rockers and television enable the parents to be with children who need care and still be a part of the worship service. In addition, there are four nursery rooms that allow the children to be grouped with others in the same age of development. Our childcare staff are all first-aid/CPR trained and receive quarterly training in child development.
