UNITED METHODIST RESPONSE TO THE CRISIS IN HAITI
Please continue to be in prayer with the people in Haiti. Particularly as the rainy season begins, your continued partnership is important to provide shelter and provisions for those who have lost so much in the January 12 earthquake.
As of March 4, 2010
$13.8 million has been received for UMCOR Haiti Relief
Please remember that 100% of your gifts to the Haiti Emergency will support the people in Haiti. UMCOR can do this because overhead costs are covered through the One Great Hour of Sharing.
UMCOR has begun implementation of a five-year work plan that contemplates three phases of assistance to Haiti: emergency, recovery and rehabilitation.
UMCOR Haiti has identified a need for layette kits and birthing kits to address the basic needs of babies born in displaced persons camps in Haiti. Volunteers have been preparing kits to send to Haiti. If you would like to contribute a layette kit or birthing kit,
Donations can be made either by check made payable to Trinity UMC and marked Haiti in the memo section or they can be made on-line by clicking here. Mail checks to Trinity UMC, PO Box 5247, Beaumont TX 77726.

Joyful Obedience
The Body in Mission 2010
The Body in MIssion is designed to enable you to give of yourself in service to Christ during the Lenten season. Various opportunities are offered at differing times using the multitude of talents possessed by Trinitarians. You may sign up to participate in as many projects as you wish. Most are designed to be "done in a day" with nonrecurring commitment. The exception to this is "Tutoring for Teens" which requires participation on a weekly basis.
The list and registration for the 2010 Body in Mission projects are now available. Click here for more information. |

Trinity Army
Helping those close to home is important to this church family. In 1993, a group of retired volunteers began meeting weekly to help those in need in our community. To date Thad's Trinity Army has worked on over 400 sites building wheel-chair ramps, doing minor plumbing, electrical work, painting, fence building, and other minor repairs. All of these have been done for individuals and families who have limited finanical resources . |
Garage Sale
Our annual garage sale serves two purposes. First, it provides people in the community the opportunity to purchase clothes, furniture, equipment, and household items that they are very much needed. Secondly, the funds raised go to support local non-profit agencies that serve the community. Last year the garage raised $30,000 that was given to such local agencies as Some Other Place, Anyat House, Henry's Place, Seafarer's Center, the Women and Children's Shelter and others.
Opportunites to Help Others
Feed My Sheep
The first Sunday of each month finds church members preparing sack lunches and delivering them to homeless people in our community. You can help by preparing lunches or assisting in the delivery.
Triangle Aids Network
Each month Trinity members provide sack lunches for the clients of Triangle Aids Network (TAN). TAN provides transportation for people who must travel to Galveston for treatment. These lunches are for the patients while they travel.
